Cortland, NY FD receives BRK donation

On June 21st at our Cortland, NY Roadshow vendor event, we ended the morning with a special presentation of 97 BRK carbon/smoke alarms as a donation to the City of Cortland Fire Department, thanks to our partnership with BRK through Liberty Electric Products and the ongoing generosity of GMES, our supplier partners, and our commitment to giving back. The fire department will in turn provide the alarms to community members.

From local news X101_WXHC’s story, “On Friday morning, representatives with Green Mountain Electric Supply on Homer Ave. in Cortland were joined by members of the City of Cortland Fire Department, Cortland Mayor Scott Steve, and Alderperson Troy Beckwith for a donation of 97 carbon dioxide and smoke detectors to the fire department.

The donation will help the City of Cortland Fire Department distribute to residents within the City of Cortland properly functioning detectors, but also install them in vital locations within a dwelling. The donation by Green Mountain Electric comes after the company heard Alderperson Beckwith speak about the ongoing effort to distribute and install smoke detectors at no cost for residents.”
